Bishop's School
The School is equipped with large buildings consisting of 75 well-ventilated Classrooms, 3 Science laboratories, 2 Assembly Halls, 2 Libraries and a Dining Room which seats about 250 children. THE DORMITORIES The Hostel section consists of 6 large and airy dormitories. Each dormitory is looked after by a matron assisted by the Block In-Charge. The dormitories are equipped with good toilet and bathing facilities. The boys sleep on individual beds and have coirfoam mattresses. Each boarder gets one steel almirah for himself which he has to keep clean and tidy at all times. There is a washing machine in each dormitory that is used for washing day-to-day clothing like vests, undergarments, socks etc. Electric irons are provided in each dorm for last minute ironing. Boys learn to iron their own clothes, though only in emergencies, in an effort to inculcate in them a sense of tidiness. Each dormitory has aquaguard water filters cum water-coolers to ensure safe drinking water for the boys at all times. Apart from these basic facilities the boarders have a color television with a cable connection in each dorm and also a music system with a selection of music that they can listen to in their free time when they relax in the dorms. GENERATOR & BORE WELLS The School has a 24 hour power backup from a 75 KVA generator capable of supplying the whole campus with electric power. The power scenario in Pune leaves the studies of the boys unaffected as it takes not more than 5 minutes for the generator to come on when the power fails. The borewells take over when there is a water shortage thus ensuring a tension free healthy stay for the boys in the boarding. SOLAR WATER HEATERS Each Dormitory is supplied with hot water from solar water heaters. Water in the solar heaters stays warm for upto 72 hours. Thus helping in conservation of electric power and ensuring hot water to the boys at all times. FUMIGATED ON A REGULAR BASIS The Campus is fumigated on a regular basis by pest control professionals. Never-the-less boys are required to bring a mosquito net with them to the dormitories for better protection.
