Wellness is a state in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a good contribution to the community at large. Anxiety and stress can also reduce the strength of the immune system, making people more vulnerable to conditions ranging from the common cold to cancer.Our mental health also affects our ability to interact with others in effective ways. When we are depressed, stressed or anxious, we are more likely to feel irritable, frustrated and intolerant. A healthy mind is the backbone of a healthy body. Today, in India, we are trying to match our steps with the west and from the joint family status we have moved out to become nuclear families. This move have left many to a state of loneliness not knowing who to confide with, therefore leading to stress and turmoil. Life is a sea of stress but one cannot avoid living, so, wellness helps us to manage this stress and make life more worthy.
